History of the Labrador Retriever:
The Labrador Retriever is believed to have their origins in Greenland where
they were used by fishermen. The Labrador Retriever was then introduced into Britain in the late 1900. From there
the Labrador Retriever made their way to Newfoundland Island, Canada in the early nineteenth century.
There Labrador Retriever worked collecting fish that fell out of the nets. The Labrador Retriever was also
used as a retriever for water birds. At one time the Labrador Retriever was only black in color, now yellow has
become more popular. The Labrador Retriever remains one of the most popular breeds of dogs today.
